Client testimonials

  • "I want to thank you so much for everthing you did for A. You were an amazing advocate for her and such a calming and beautiful presence...endless pressure massages and on point dance moves... I can't thank you enough for helping her toward the birth that she hoped and longed for...and she did it !"

    —Jessica | Huntsville, AL

  • "I cannot thank you enough for being there for us. You helped me achieve the birth I wanted and you truly made the experience amazing. We are so grateful!"

    —Rose | Huntsville, AL

  • "Victoria!!! I literally couldn't have done this without you. Thank you for giving us tips to confidently communicate with the nurses and my OB…and for coping mechanisms that got me as far as I could before getting the epidural. We're eternally grateful!"

    —Kelly | Grand Rapids, MI

  • “Having Victoria in my corner was so much more valuable than I could put into words, even from states away! She helped me labor at home, talked me through the hard parts, gentle reminders to pee and RELAX, which is difficult to remember with a toddler running circles around you. With all of Victoria’s help my sweet boy was out in one contraction. My birth experience was more than I could have ever dreamed due in LARGE part to her calm, sweet, and reassuring demeanor.”

About True North Birth

True North Birth began as a seed in 2020, before I became pregnant with my oldest son. Pre-conception was an Olympic sport to me, and I was determined to give my baby the best possible shot. Even after taking childbirth education courses and carefully assembling a care team, I still felt so much was missing. My wheels were constantly turning, and after leaving prenatal appointments disappointed I didn’t receive more guidance, I’d come home and do deep dives into every resource I could get my eyes on.

After both a medicated hospital birth and a redemptive home birth, I’ve organized all the resources and wisdom I’ve gained along the way and became a Certified Childbirth Educator and birth doula to serve those seeking their True North.

About Victoria Tice

I was born and raised in metro-Detroit and have the gumption to show for it. I’m a first-generation college graduate, and I’ve been a professional writer for a decade. I savor outside time, audiobooks, listening to my granny’s stories, and reading to my children.

I’m married to an engineer who is my personal cheerleader and voice of reason. We live in North Alabama with our two, beautiful boys.

I find joy in experiencing simple things through the eyes of my sons and creating a life for them that heals my inner child. Being in community with fellow strong-willed women fills my cup.

I’m a gal’s gal through and through, and I can’t wait to meet you.

Let’s do this!

FAQ

When I say I’m here for you

I do not give medical advice or care.

I’m a resource in your pregnancy and birth toolkit. We will talk through your choices by referring to evidence-based research, clinical practice, and anecdotal experience. My job is to empower you to make your own choices that feel right with your spirit and to advocate for your choices in your birth setting.

Everything you need is already within you; I’m here to guide you on your journey and bring you closer to the birth you desire.

It’s my greatest wish that no matter the outcome of your birth, you feel safe, loved, and heard.

Inclusivity Statement

As a Certified Childbirth Educator and mother, inclusivity in birth is at the heart of what I do: helping you to feel seen and heard. I serve birthing people of all ages, races, body types, ethnicities, sexes, genders, sexual orientation, abilities, relationship status, and religious beliefs. I recognize my privilege and work intentionally to acknowledge and remedy my implicit bias. Inclusivity is always evolving and I remain committed to growing with an open mind and heart to serve people as they are.
